It’s a VERY blustery Autumnal day today, warm temperatures being tempest toss’d. The winds are reminding me of some of the odd things you learn as an homoeopath, notably how we can be affected, for good or ill, by the climate and conditions. I, for one, LOVE a good windstorm, it is invigorating and enlivening; nothing like having breath being given a push start! I am also aware that there are those of us who DREAD the wind, feel stirred up (not in a good way), irritated, ruffled through and through… and some of our pains can be triggered too. It also illustrates the fact that in homoeopathy, when we are searching for the ‘remedy’ for a person, we glean all sorts of individual and particular symptoms that help us to differentiate one remedy from another… but where to start?
I often have people ask me how to know which remedy to choose, say from a number of different contenders… It is a bit confusing at first, to find that there are several possible candidates for the job, and it’s important to realise that every symptom is potentially relevant when making a choice. Hence… in the case (for example) of earache, do you like the wind? or do you HATE the wind, do you even know it’s windy become important considerations. This one odd tidbit of information can be the deciding factor between several remedies…
One of biggest joys is to share the magic of Homoeopathy with people and in October, I am offering another series of Kitchen Table Homoeopathy. The seven part series introduces 36 common remedies that can be used for acute illnesses ranging from headaches to food poisoning, hang-overs to accidents, earaches (from wind or no?) to flu.
The course will extend over seven weeks. During that time we will look at 36 Common Remedies and how/when to prescribe them. The aim of the course is to provide you with the wherewithal to treat acute situations with confidence. The remedies span quite a large range of potential acute situations from headaches, to asthma, to shock, to post-surgical instances, accidents and injuries.
In addition to the 36 remedies we will discuss and learn a little about the history and foundation principles of homoeopathy, what is disease/what is health, vaccination, case studies, when to call the dr or homoeopath, how to assess if a remedy is working…
Notes are provided and there is scope for conversations, so that this is not just a lecture format but interactive where anyone who has experience of using remedies or questions are invited to share them so that the class as a whole can benefit from the query. It is usually a smallish group, so an exchange is possible and hopefully will encourage the development of community where people can share resources. Each session is recorded for future reference too.
The final session is devoted to creating a practical therapeutic model to help organise the information (which can sometimes be overwhelming!) in a way that makes it accessible for you.
If you are keen to take more control of your health, and to learn a little more about what health IS, come and join us.
When: Mondays beginning October 20th, 2025 from 7-9pm (UK) online – for seven weeks.
Investment: £275 – including recordings of the sessions and notes
I have been studying and practicing Homoeopathy and Astrology for over 35 years, during which time I’ve incorporated many different tools into my practice; counselling, guided meditation and healing journeys. I gained a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and English Literature (1985), a Licentiate of College of Homoeopathy (1990) and became a Member of the Guild of Homoeopaths (2001). In addition to private practice, I offer workshops in Homoeopathy and in Astrology. My personal experience as a patient of Martin Miles in the 1980’s not only changed my life but inspired me to undertake study and consequently practice myself. During that time, I also had the good fortune to meet Margaret Koolman, a wise and insightful Astrologer, who likewise inspired me to venture further… Over the last 35 years I have traveled and lived between Canada and the UK where I have raised my family (now grown), practiced and taught both Homoeopathy and Astrology. Presenting seminars in homoeopathy for Midwives, Hospice Workers and lay people, I have endeavoured to encourage and equip people to manage their acute health concerns safely and effectively.
My passion for astrology has grown out of a personal interest and inquiry into self-development and understanding. I have been offering series of classes for beginners, as well as those wishing to carry their studies further into the practical application of the principles. These classes are offered online, in real time, to enable maximum participation.
In 2017, I began to explore Family Constellations and have been enjoying collaborating with Family Constellations Practitioner, Elaine Harris, to offer workshops combining the healing power of homoeopathy within the system of Family constellations. Passionate about my work with people, I am endlessly inspired by their journeys and courage in the face of life’s challenges. It is my privilege to share this work.
I am currently practicing in Cambridge, UK and available for consultation in person or by Zoom, Telephone: (44)07528-188901 or in person.

Here we are, the light is definitely returning, the birds are singing and chattering in their mad WAKE UP! song and we are reminded that new life is burgeoning. Imbolc, (February 2) the first stirrings of Spring.
This is announcement time, a traditional time in the Old Calendar where dedications and declarations of intent are made. Emerging from the blistering winter winds, the deep sleep of the dark, there are stirrings and efforts to reach up and forward into the newly emerging light.
So, in keeping with this time, I am announcing the commencement of two courses in the coming months.
Amidst the chaos of political, environmental and societal change uncertainty mounts, camps are chosen and some of us attempt to erect barricades. Astrology offers an opportunity to pull back from the binary of ‘us and them’ by illuminating and describing many, many different options for understanding and appreciation of ourselves and ‘the other’. Join us as we draw back the shade on an ancient language that offers insight, guidance and a glimpse at potential. Access the building blocks of ‘the long view’ and come to understand the perfection in every moment as it leads to the next.
No previous knowledge of astrology is required, a sense of humour and willingness to join in the conversation is a must!

One of my all time favourite series to share. Homoeopathy, even after almost 30 years of practice, is close to my heart. This introductory course is called Life’s Resource because as people with bodies, we are well advised to develop familiarity and awareness of the owner’s manual! Centred around 36 common first aid remedies, the series will also cover basic homoeopathic philosophy (WHY we prescribe remedies) and illustrate the use of remedies with genuine cases. The aim of the series is to enable you to feel confident to prescribe in acute situations. We’ll cover, headaches to hang-overs, fevers to injuries and common childhood ailments.

Moving out for the first time? Freedom, new friends, adventures, self-sufficiency, independence and experimenting with being YOU? (Oh… and classes, higher learning and new connections) You’ll have heard all the stuff about learning to cook, clean; doing it your own way, and fending for yourself. ‘The Introduction’ for moving to your new university life is full of how-to’s, resources and assurances that all you need can be accessed from your new location.
Your parents are concerned about whether you’ll eat more than one ‘real’ meal in the term and if you’ll sleep… ever again. What if you get sick? What if you have an accident? How will you cope? And stress, what about managing stress?
One thing that might be missing from your University Get Ready list is a remedy kit. A no-nonsense go-to option in the event of coughs, colds, the effects of late nights, hang overs, accidents, injuries, anxiety, gippy tummy or even just plain old homesickness.
Homoeopathy is a safe, effective and powerful ally whether you’re at home or away. It provides a gentle and proven alternative to conventional medicine with no conflict with other medications. Learning about remedies enables you to take care of your health in a way that ensures a richer experience of your new life.
Join me for an afternoon’s informal tour through the Basic 18 remedies that can support you through many first aid and acute situations. The afternoon will include a (very) brief introduction to homoeopathy, remedy indications with examples, what to expect from a remedy and when to seek help.
