Un-sticking the Stuckness

Do you ever feel stuck? Either painfully so, or perhaps just annoyingly… and then you try to move away from the discomfort, the sense that something isn’t right and regardless of how you try to manoeuvre around it, It. Just. Won’t. Unstick. Over and over again, you circle the familiar territory, trying in vain to create a different outcome. It becomes a pattern and it can feel pretty discouraging.

I’ve discovered something that works for me. When I am feeling stuck, anxious about a relationship, fearful of meeting an experience or re-visiting old wounds (yup, we all have’em) I have found that I can turn to the practice of constellations to help me find my way through my endless mental dead-ends and make sense of what feels insurmountable. When I can acknowledge that there *may* be another dynamic at play, my curiosity is awakened and I can look again and see things I hadn’t previously.

Family or Systemic Constellations provide an opportunity to visit these tender places from a different perspective. Rather than zeroing-in on the problem, constellations expand the field to offer a different view, to place it in the wider family, societal, or historic context. From this wider field, it’s possible to understand that we aren’t an isolated entity but that we exist in a whole system and are sometimes unwittingly entangled in a pattern or dynamic that isn’t our own. This ‘field’ is a quantum entity. When we become aware and bring our consciousness to bear on the patterns that we experience, they change. And when we change something, we, by definition, become unstuck. There is something too, about the unsticking, that invites more life, more flow and more ease into the whole system. When life begins to flow then everyone else in the system will experience a shift too.

My friend and colleague, Elaine Harris and I are going to be taking ourselves ‘on the road’ for the next few weeks and will be offering weekend workshops in Family Constellations on the west coast of BC. One in the Fraser Valley February 10/11 and the other, on the Sunshine Coast February 17/18.

If you are feeling ‘stuck’ with something, come and join us and explore what it is to re-orient and UN-stick yourself in the context of a larger field.

A Whole New Year- Constellations and Beyond!

And it will feel like it. Often I have felt as though, once all the furore of New Year’s Eve and extended holiday season has dissipated that I am left with a sense of Oh… NOW what?

This year has a markedly different flavour to it as we move from one calendar year to the next. There are some palpable shifts in energy, from an astrological perspective, that will play out in our felt experience. Today, January 2 marks the transition from Mercury retrograde to direct… what does that mean? It means that after a period (of about three weeks) we are able to communicate more clearly and more directly, to think things through in a forward facing fashion, anticipate and strategise more effectively. We are retracing our previous passage through Sagittarius which will have us dreaming and scheming in a positive, expansive and hopeful way. The thoughts that arise will be flavoured with ‘what’s possible?’  And just to add belt and braces to the cosmic impulse to ‘get things done’, Mars will be making it’s way into the sign of Capricorn this week as well! When Mars changes sign, we can be assured of a strong push with a new flavour… This flavour is all about work, effort, goals and ACHIEVEMENT.

This also closely coincides with Jupiter, the ruler of Sagittarius, moving forward once again in the sign of Taurus. Capricorn and Taurus are both earth signs, and that relates to tangible resources. This is not just about dreaming and hoping, there is energy in the system to manifest.

By the 21st of the month we will be taking a giant step forward, as Pluto, the Transformer and the Sun (our Heart) make a combined foray into Aquarius, which is about The People, technology, groups and community built on individual’s collective endeavours. This is a move that brings us forward into a new era, it’s not just a blip.

At the risk of loading the theme, towards the end of the month, Uranus, the great Awakener is set to change course and move us forward as well… completing the picture of ALL planetary energies moving direct. So, in short? Rocket fuel to change, awakening and action of consequence! Buckle up? or Unbuckle, we’re on the evolutionary ride of our lives. This year will be a portal of sorts, and there is no going back!

And now… for a COMPLETELY different Constellation. We know the energy of the year is about practical implementation and moving forward. To that end, I am delighted to announce that my colleague, Elaine Harris and I will be ‘on the road’ and taking the transformational work of Family Constellations, as informed by the wisdom of astrology and homoeopathy, to the west coast of Canada!

We will be offering two, two-day workshops in February, one in the Fraser Valley (9/10) and the other on the Sunshine Coast (17/18). We are excited to bring the unique combination of our skills and experience to share.
